Bob the Artist

Marion Deuchars

A life-affirming book that celebrates the power of art and being confident in who you are.

Bob’s bullies tease him for having skinny legs. Feeling self-conscious, he tries to change them. Then, he tries to hide them. Until one day, Bob visits the art gallery, where he is suddenly inspired!

He discovers Henri Matisse’s leafy cutouts, Jackson Pollock’s expressive drip paintings, and Piet Mondrian’s abstract grids.

Modern art gives Bob the confidence to express and be himself—so much so that even his bullies are impressed.

Ten years after its initial publication, this new edition of Bob the Artist is available in hardcover and will be followed by a series of Bob the Artist picture and activity books.

Reviews

Dazzling … both an anti-bullying book and a quick lesson in modern art.
